Miniature Specimen Tensile Tester |
This device was engineered, designed, and fabricated for the Westinghouse Hanford Co. to test both miniature wire (.025" dia.) and dog bone tensile specimens that had been subjected to intense neutron bombardment. Data output was from signal averaged twin LVDT(to counteract any cocking error) and piezo-electric load cell. Manual preload and variable strain rate were featured. The dog bone specimen clamps (not shown here) were hot cell, remote manipulator, compliant.
