This product is designed to make rapid micro-filtration of aqueous solutions* quick and easy. Depending on the filter media utilized, the filtration time for 10 ml can be less than one second. Filter media support is micro-perforated stainless steel. A number of different sized Neoprene corks may be used on the vacuum valve to adapt the filter output to just about any size of collection vessel. A vacuum flask used as a liquid separator is highly recommended between the vacuum valve on the bottom of the filter assembly and your vacuum pump for obvious reasons.
Basic construction material is anodized and dyed 6061-T6 aluminum. Top to bottom hinge is stainless steel. The "O" ring material used to seal the top and bottom sections after replacing the filter is customer option. Standard is 40 durometer Buna-n. The standard optically clear center portion of the upper section is acrylic. If this is not chemically compatible with your solutions other materials are available at customer option.
The assembly is designed to allow adjustment of seal pressure on the edges of the filter media while maintaining the required squeeze on the "o" ring.
*Other solvents may be used but will possibly require modification of construction materials.
